Sheridans Cheesemongers are hosting a Harvest Festival on Sunday 5th September. The festival is to celebrate food grown or produced within a 50 mile radius, it will be held here at our Virginia Road Station headquarters in County Meath. We are focusing on food which is more local. Following the huge success of our Irish food festival in May of this year, when over forty Irish food producers and more than 3,500 people attended. There will be producers and growers from Co Meath and the surrounding areas here to sell, sample and talk about their wonderful foods. "We want this small festival to celebrate the diversity and quality of food being produced on a small scale in our area and to highlight this to the community." – Kevin Sheridan Festival Exhibitors... We are delighted to have so many local producers in attendance. Farmhouse cheese producers include Bellingham Blue and Glebe Brethan, ice-cream producer Bernie Burke, Aine’s Chocolates as well as many more artisan producers of Jams, chutneys, bakers, fish smokers, small butchers, organic growers and many more. We will also have several areas where local food is being cooked and served on site.
We will also have a select number of local crafts. If you grow some fruit or veg yourself or know any small producers or growers please put them in touch with us, we would love to have as many participants as possible. No stand is too small, a bucket of potatoes, a basket of blackberries or three pots of jam. Food Fair Cooking demonstrations...
