Brunello di Montalcino 2016 Col d’Orcia
One of the most historic properties in Montalcino, Col d’Orcia can trace wine production back to the 1930s, well before Brunello had gained its status as a world-class wine.
The estate (including olive groves and gardens as well as the vineyards) has been worked entirely according to organic principles since 2010, under the quietly aristocratic direction of Count Francesco Marone Cinzano, and is currently in biodynamic conversion.
Their Brunello di Montalcino is a classic expression of the southern part of the appellation, with a rich and dark fruit sustained by a lifting tannic/acidic structure and an intense minerality. A truly great red!
