La Marca di San Michele Saltatempo Verdicchio

Located on the eastern slopes of the Apennines where they slope down to the sea, La Marca di San Michele has 9 hectares of vineyards planted on an ancient limestone seabed. This is the birthplace of verdicchio, with wine production dating back to at least the 12th century. In the capable hands of Daniela Quaresima and Alessandro Bonci, the grape reveals its potential as one of the great white wines of Italy.

La Marca di San Michele

Marche, Italy

La Marca di San Michele is a biodynamic winery located in the historic Contrada di San Michele in Cupramontana, in Italy’s Marche region. Founded in 2007 by Alessandro and Beatrice Bonci together with Daniela Quaresima, the estate continues a long family viticultural tradition rooted in the same vineyards cultivated by previous generations. The winery farms its own vineyards organically and biodynamically, focusing on native grape varieties such as Verdicchio and Montepulciano. Working entirely by hand and following a philosophy of minimal intervention, La Marca di San Michele aims to express the character of its single-vineyard terroir through wines that reflect purity, balance, and a strong sense of place.
