Story

Rosso di Montepulciano is a DOC title for red wines based on the Sangiovese grape located in and around the commune of Montepulciano in southern Tuscany, central Italy. It is the junior appellation associated with the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.

Producer

Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is one of the great Tuscan estates. The wines have the power of Brunello but in a softer frame. Although permitted to blend in up to 30% of other Tuscan grapes, owner Virgine Sayers relishes the challenge of making a varietal sangiovese wine.
