Avignonesi Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano

Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is made primarily from Sangiovese (locally called Prugnolo Gentile), with grapes hand-harvested from organically farmed vineyards around Montepulciano. Fermentation is carried out with careful temperature control to preserve fruit purity, followed by ageing in a mix of oak barrels and large casks to build structure without overpowering the wine’s character.

Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is one of the great Tuscan estates. The wines have the power of Brunello but in a softer frame. Although permitted to blend in up to 30% of other Tuscan grapes, owner Virgine Sayers relishes the challenge of making a varietal sangiovese wine.
