Description

Frühlingskäse

Jumi produces a variety of cheeses all using raw milk from the surrounding farms, collected twice daily. They work exclusively with local farmers, whose herds are fed only Swiss hay and grass— never antibiotics or hormones. Since 1896, when Jumi’s great, great grandfather began the craft of cheesemaking, the family has passed down their knowledge over five generations. Today, they continue to refine and innovate, ensuring every cheese reflects both tradition and quality—from the milking to the final delivery.

Meet Our Producers

Jumi

Canton of Bern, Switzerland

Jumi Cheese is a Swiss-based artisanal cheese producer renowned for their unique flavour and style. Mike Glauser and Jürg Wyss, founded the company in 2006 with a passion for creating exceptional artisanal cheeses. With a commitment to preserving traditional cheese-making techniques combined with modern creativity, Jumi crafts some super interesting cheeses that feel both modern and steeped in history at the same time. The Glauser family dairy where the cheese is made began 5 generations ago and they are no stranger to quality cheese making. The cheese dairy receives fresh milk every morning from the surrounding farms, the largest farm holding only 40 cows, making production very limited. The dairy processes the fresh, silage-free milk within 24 hours into Jumi’s flavourful raw milk cheeses.
