A blend of welschriesling, pinot gris and gewürztraminer with up to a week of skin contact. Bright and vivacious, with intense aromatics of grapefruit peel, peach tea and rose petals undercut by savoury salinity.
Mulatschak is apparently a word of Hungarian origin meaning funky and raucous entertainment…!

Description

Meinklang Roter Mulatschak

Meinklang Roter Mulatschak is a biodynamic, lightly sparkling red wine from Burgenland, Austria, made by the Michlits family on their Demeter-certified mixed farm where vineyards, livestock, and soil regeneration are integrated into one system. The grapes are organically grown and hand-harvested, reflecting the estate’s low-input, biodiversity-focused approach. It is made in a low-intervention style with spontaneous fermentation and short maceration to preserve freshness and fruit expression, then bottled with a light sparkle and minimal filtration. The result is an unfiltered, vibrant red pét-nat-style wine that reflects Meinklang’s natural, farm-based winemaking philosophy.
