Château Gombaude-Guillot

Pomerol, Bordeaux, France

The eight hectares of the Château Gombaude-Guillot vines are located on the flat terroir of Pomerol. Under the watchful care of the church's bell tower, poppies and wild grasses are running through the straight paths of the vineyards: the plots are cultivated according to the organic farming principles, and not just now. Claire LAVAL and Dominique TECHER, the estate owners since 1983, are growing their vines with the greatest respect for the environment. They were among the first vine growers of Pomerol to have practiced organic farming, out of conviction and militancy, at a time when organic viticulture was rare and little sales-oriented. They obtained the Organic Farming certification in 1997.
