Description

Sampagnino Bianco Frizzante Bulli

Made with the traditional Monterosso blend (Ortrugo, Sauvignon, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Marsanne, Moscato) and with the second fermentation in bottle. Due to that, there is always a bit of sediment: you can remove it leaving the bottle standing overnight in the fridge or -the way we like it- just slowly turn the bottle upside down a couple of times before opening it.

The Bulli winery

Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Bulli is a historic family winery from the Colli Piacentini in Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. The estate has remained in the Bulli family since the mid-19th century, with winemaking traditions and farming practices passed down through generations with very little change. Today, the winery is run by Leonardo Bulli alongside his mother, Signora Luciana, who remains closely involved in daily operations. Their approach is rooted in continuity, with spontaneous fermentations, no added sulphites, and minimal intervention reflecting long-established local practices. The vineyards are planted with traditional regional varieties such as Barbera, Bonarda, Ortrugo, and Uva Sampagnina, often blended together. The focus is on honest, approachable wines that express the agricultural identity of the Colli Piacentini. Most wines are produced in a lightly sparkling frizzante or bottle-refermented style, alongside a small number of still wines, all defined by their rustic character and strong sense of place.
