Seven days of maceration with the skins in open vats, then drawn off. Aging in stainless steel from October, then directly in the bottle from April 2021. Just one pre-bottling decanting. Fermented with its yeasts, without added sulfur nor temperature control, without filtration nor clarification. With the lees in suspension from November to March. ‘Il Signor Kurtz’ is the main character of Jospeh Conrad’s novel ‘Heart of Darkness’. It is also the name of the tiny winery of Marco Durante, in Vallupina near the Trasimeno Lake. Marco’s approach to winemaking is free and simple, with no shortcuts or technical artifices to reproduce the same wine year after year.
