Brezo Blanco Mengoba
In 2007, after stints in his native Bordeaux and in Spain, Grégory Pérez purchased 5 hectares in Bierzo and started Mengoba. His commitment is to produce terroir-driven, non-interventionist wines. A judicious use of oak vessels, for both fermentation and ageing, natural yeasts, almost no filtration or clarification, and a minimal amount of sulphur, results in wines that taste genuine: pure, deep and complex.
The Brezo Blanco, a blend of old vines Godello & Doña Blanca, not only is one of the wines that perfectly represent Gregory’s philosophy, but also offers an incredible value for money: citrus fruit, intense minerality and a soft, charming feel due to the long lees ageing.
