Guidobono Barolo Le Coste di Monforte

About This Drink

A gorgeous wine graced with round, expressive red-berried fruit. There is plenty of suppleness and roundness, but the firm nebbiolo tannins are never too far away. Sweet spices, menthol, and liquorice wrap around the finish.

Guidobono produce textbook interpretations of the local Langhe grape varieties arneis, barbera and nebbiolo. The fertile, sandy Roero valley allows the grapes to develop generous, perfumed fruit profiles, while pockets of marine deposits contribute satisfying depth and structure. Roero may lack fame compared to the neighbouring Barolo and Barbaresco zones, but it is certainly not lacking in quality. The result is youthful, expressive wines that offer a jumping-off point into the diversity of Piemonte.
