Description

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo ‘Padami’ Cantina Orsogna

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Padami” by Cantina Orsogna is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown in Abruzzo’s hillside vineyards, where coastal and mountain influences help develop ripe fruit and natural structure. It is produced by Cantina Orsogna, a cooperative known for its organic and biodynamic farming approach across much of its production. The wine is made with low-intervention winemaking, often using native yeasts and minimal cellar handling to preserve the grape’s dark fruit character and regional expression. “Padami” reflects the estate’s focus on biodynamic viticulture and clean, site-driven wines from Abruzzo.

Meet Our Producers

Cantina Orsogn

Abruzzo, Italy

Cantina Orsogna is a large organic and biodynamic wine cooperative based in Orsogna, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. Founded in 1964 by a group of local growers, it has grown into one of the country’s leading cooperative wineries, with hundreds of member producers cultivating vineyards across Abruzzo and parts of Sicily. The cooperative is known for its strong commitment to sustainability, with all vineyards certified organic and a significant portion farmed biodynamically under Demeter certification. Led by winemaker Camillo Zulli, Cantina Orsogna focuses on native grape varieties such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Pecorino, producing wines that emphasize regional character, minimal intervention, and respect for biodiversity.
