Story

Valpolicella Ripasso is a fruity, complex red wine from the Valpolicella viticultural zone of Veneto, in the northeast of Italy. Established as a DOC in 2010, the ripasso method is utilized for the production of Valpolicella Ripasso by combining leftover lees with standard Valpolicella wine for a second fermentation to create a deeper, more character-laden wine.

Producer

Guido Fidora is a pioneer winery located in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella. In 1974, the visionary Guido Fidora decided to convert his estate into organic. It was the time when chemicals were all the rage and considered innovative, reliable and indispensable to a modern farmer. His love for nature made him realise that a clean approach meant better quality of grapes, and so going against the tide he created an oasis of biodiversity. His grandson Emilio, now at the helm of the estate, continued Guido’s legacy and converted the farm to biodynamic. Their respect for the land, environment and tradition shows in their wines that are pure and genuine, and a perfect example of traditional Valpolicella.
